A Day After Monday Entry

Hello Friends.

Did you survive through Monday!?! I hope so!

Today is another gorgeous day and today... I DON"T WORK. So i get to spoil myself!

First i am going to get a new cell phone, which one do you think i should get? Mine has stopped working as in the fact that it will not turn on. Technology is pretty ridiculous these days. It is like they create things that are easily breakable just so they will continue having a buisness. It would be much more efficient if they made them as long lasting as possible. Anyway, so yeah i get a NEW PHONE today. Should be fun.

Then I would love to scrapbooking. Althogh I am ambivalent about it because it so gorgeous out right now, but they said that it was going to potentially rain later today. If it rains I will be the first one sitting and scrapbooking. I have three pages left before I have completely scrapbooked my Freshman year of college. I wish i had some efficient way of showing you my pages. For those of you who read and upload your pages, how do you do it?

My friend Ryan told me about one of his favorite poet's e.e cummings. I've been reading up on some of his poetry and it is so beautiful. you should read it! I will leave you with one now.

who knows if the moon's
a balloon,coming out of a keen city
in the sky--filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should

get into it,if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people

than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where

always
it's
Spring)and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves

Love to you!

Vanessa.

A Monday Entry.

Good morning to you!

I have just been terrible at updating my blog, huh?

I guess it has been a mixture of reasons why. For one, finding even an extra second in spain was literally a tremendous challenge. I guess that will tell you though that I was having an amazing time. Secondly, the transition back to my regular (if I can even say that about anything anymore) life has been sort of hard. I of course love being home, but it was very hard to get adjusted back to the time zone and it is almost like a culture shock to have such a switch of lifestyle.

"Transition means change and it is a paradox that the constant cycle of life is assurance of neverending change."

it is a hard transition to come from an experience where everyday i was learning so many new things and meeting new people and I was exploring with a new language. There were a lot of new things which made each and every day so exciting and so spectacular. Of course, with time that would have lost it's flare as well.. but it was difficult leaving that lifestyle and coming back to my home where I've had the same relationships for years and even decades.

What I've decided though is that I should make it my mission to learn more every day while I am here. You don't need to be in a foreign country to learn something new every day, I am going to do it here! For that reason I've been trying to read every day and just talk to people.

Anyway, I am very thankful to be at home now. I have come to the conslusion that I AM IN LOVE WITH MINNESOTA. Everytime i come back after being away for awhile, I will drive the same drive I always drive and my mind will be jumping with memories and I am unable to take my eyes off of the lush green or the pure white snow or the setting sun or the movement of the lake. Whatever it is I see, It is like the most amazing thing in the world. That is why I love Minnesota.

Today, I don't work until 2 and so I will be spending my day outside enjoying Minnesota's beauty and attempting to learn.

What a great day.

I hope you will find great happiness in your Monday!

Love and peace

Vanessa.

Well, today is my last day here in Spain. The last day of my trip!

This week has been filled with some more amazing things, we have seen many beautiful places and met many beautiful people. I think we have been most touched my our neighbors who have taken to it that we have a good time while we are here. They have had us over for dinnner and yesterday they took us out to their favorite beach locations, took us out for lunch and drove us everywhere in their car. They are a very kind and caring family, and i am so thankful to have met them.

The only problem we have is that they don´t speak english, and my dad and sherry don´t speak spanish. The good news is that their youngest son speaks english and i speak spanish we are the designated translators for the group. It has really helped me with my spanish skills i think.

Today will be spent soaking up the last day by going into the little shops and things i love and tonight we will be going to out to celebrate with TAPAS ( a typical spanish meal) I am not looking forward to leaving but at the same time i am much looking forward to the comfort of my own bed.

What have you been doing in the weeks i have been gone? i would love to know! leave me a comment maybe to tell me what´s going on in YOUR life!

love in your direction!

It´s been a long while!

Hello there!!!

Oh my goodness, it has been a while since I have been able to use the internet to update to you. But no words i have right now could tell you the difference in me. My trip has been absolutely amazing. the first week i was here, i was completely filled to the max with events. I spent my days with 30 other kids my age, all working towards becoming better leaders and having a better understanding of ourselves. We had challenges such as scavenger hunts throughout the city, participating in bull fighting and flamenco dancing and listening to speeches by highly qualified people. The relationships i made while i was there are irreplaceable. Even if i never see any of the kids again (which i hope will not be the case) i have still been impacted by them in a very great way! Really and truly, this was one of the best trips in my life

I have many wonderful pictures that i am looking forward to putting up on here as soon as i get back!!

Now i am in Girona with my Dad and his girlfriend Sherry. They have taken a break from their intense biking adventures in order to spend a week with me! i feel so honored! we are staying in a beautiful apartment in the middle of the city, we realy feel like we actually live in the city which is pretty cool. I just got in here last night, and i was so exhausted from my other trip that i slept over 12 hours. today i feel much more rested.

I am really grateful to be here now, experiencing things that I have never experienced before. These past weeks have been one of the greatest learning experiences.

I hope that everyone is doing well in their lives, I would love to hear more about you and how you are doing... drop me a line.. let me know!!!

Talk to you again soon,

besos y abrazos (kisses and hugs)

vanessa.
