Pottery Sale

My good friend Brady has quite the artistic talent when it comes to making pottery. He has been working for a couple of years in high school and college learning the basics and he has made some really beautiful things. Today we had a pottery sale for him in my dad's backyard. He has a little over 50 works in total and he sold 23 pieces today!! It was really cool to see the interest in his pottery, he really has a talent.

Great sale today! Congrats Brady!

** Special thanks to my dad and Sherry for letting us use their backyard!**

Happy Sunday,

Vanessa.

Oh Mama Mia!

Last night I went to see Mama Mia in theaters and it blew my mind! So many wonderful images and beautiful colors! Not to mention a hilarious story line. My mom and aunt saw the actual play in the theater in London but the movie was so wonderful. Here are some of my favorite scenes.

Very inspiring. I saw it with my best friend Mia.. both of us were so inspired to LIVE after the movie!

Go see it with a bunch of girlfriends, thats my suggestion.

Much Love,

Nessa.

A New Project.

I know I should know how to do this already, but I just learned today how to use a sewing machine. My mom got me one for Christmas, but with school and life I never ended up using it. I took it out the other day to play with but my mom taught me the basics today. It was a lot of fun. Plus I felt like I was living in the olden days when like that was a mother's job - to teach her daughters how to sew. Here is what we made...

What do you think?? know its not anything spectacular. But pretty cool to say I made it!

Have a creative day,

Vanessa.

Ps- I also happened to create a little bracelet.. I'll take a pic and show you later.

I've been MIA.

Mister Ryan Morgan came to visit me this weekend! What a great time we had! He visited once last summer, so he had seen some highlights of our great state but not enough.

We went out boating on Lake Minnetonka, viewed an art exhibit on the stone arch bridge on the Mississippi river, went mini-golfing at the sculpture garden in minneapolis, went to the farmers market and many other wonderful things. It was a great adventure filled long weekend. We are okay not living in the same city, but we've decided it is wayyyy more fun when we do!

*How can you not love that face?*

Sorry i've been missing! Hope you've been having a wonderful week!

Summer Job.

I don't think I've ever written about my job this summer, which is unfortunate because it has turned out to be one of the best experiences!

I am working this summer as a PCA (personal care assistant) for a non profit organization called St. Davids. St. Davids was started back in the 60's and works on improving the lives on people with special needs ages 3 - 80. It is truly an amazing place. There is a school for pre-school and kindergardeners where they mainstream all students. I have a lot of friends who went to the school for kindergarden and speak very highly of the school there. For my job, I have been assigned to three different kids to work one on one with during the days. For confidentiality reasons, I cannot tell you much about my clients other than they are amazing and have really impacted me this summer. I have learned so much from these wonderful kids and I hope they have also learned from me :)

Well, I'm off to work!

Hope you enjoy your job as much as I enjoy mine,

10-Day Challenge!

I'm sick of counting down days.
This time I am going to do something different.
I am going to make each day COUNT until I get to TEN. So my ten day challenge consists of me doing one thing for at least 1 hour a day that improves my overall being and is something that I enjoy. Today is day NUMBER 2!

Day 1 - Sitting in a beautiful place (Norenberg Gardens) and reading a good book.

Day 2 - Going for a run around Lake Calhoun, an upbeat and happy place.

Day 3 - We will just have to see what tomorrow will bring!
